March Madness

Hi Rainbows. What a fabulous start to the year for our team. For those of you who missed the Unit Meeting, I was very proud to announce that we came in second place for the Southern region for sales in January. I can see that we have had lots of orders coming in February and almost every one of us has sold something. It doesn't take a huge amount to add up really nicely.

There are lots of dates in this message, you might want to grab your diary and make sure you have them all in....

Britta and Noelene
Congratulations to Britta and Noelene for achieving Brite Start Month 1! Britta and Noelene started in January and have both sold over $2000 in product. In March I'd love to see both of them bonus so they get the Month 2 Brite Start rewards.

Leone, Sandra and Judi
Welcome to Leone, Sandra and Judi! These lovely ladies joined in early February and will have their first brite Start Month in March. Good luck to you! Please write a little testimonial for me about the New Consultant Training you received. Let us all know how it has helped you so far.

New Consultant Training
For any new Consultants who join, please have them select from these March dates (put them on your calendars):
  • Monday, March 3, 7:30 pm - Wendy Lloyd Curley
  • Wednesday, March 12, 7:30 pm - Nicole Brennan
  • Monday, March 17, 7:30 pm - Angela Little
  • Tuesday, March 25, 7:30 pm - Wendy Lloyd Curley

Stop Sell Information
The Fresh Home Sun-Kissed Cotton Scented Garland has been placed on Stop Sell. It is important to share with you all that this is not a quality control issue. The reason this has been placed on stop sell is because it has sold so well globally that the supplier has not been able to keep up with demand. It is such a fabulous fragrance (as you all know), and is selling above all forecasts; at the moment there are none available worldwide. As soon as we receive an ETA, we will advise everyone via the CBC.

March Unit Meeting: Bring a Potential Consultant
Our next Unit Meeting is Wednesday, March 26th. Over the next 26 days, I want you to invite prospective Consultants to come to the Unit Meeting with you. I will have a special raffle just for your guests. We won't pressure anyone to sign up, but we will give each person an opportunity to find out more about the PartyLite culture and the PartyLite business opportunity. Everyone who brings a guest will get a nice wax pack.

Conference
So far, Wendy (that's me), Janice, Sam, Noelene, Sandra, Nicole, and Donna are all going to conference at the Gold Coast from July 31-August 2. I've sent in my registration form already (they won't take the money until July). I've bought my plane ticket. I've found roommates and reserved my room. It's fun and great for your business. Are you going to come, too?

March Training
Step Up Training is on Tuesday, March 11 at 7:00. The venue is new: the Hills Lodge Boutique Hotel in Castle Hill. Here is a link to a map. This is free training for all Consultants provided by PartyLite. It does require an RSVP to me.

I think that about does it for now. I hope you have a successful March ahead of you. If you don't have as many shows in your diary as you want to have, get on the phone! Make some client calls and ask for some referrals. We have great March guest specials! Don't be pushy, be positive.

Make it a great month!

What Women Want

At Success Express, I had the priviledge of sharing some market analysis with you about our primary target market: women. Research has been conducted and the analysis revealed that we should approach women differently based on a fairly simple age demographic. While not everyone will fit into these categories at the exact ages specified, and some women won't fit into them at all, taking the recommendations to heart should improve our effectiveness when selling to or sponsoring different women.

The Socialite ~ 18 to 28 Years
  • Self-focussed & ambitious, driven by friends, family & fun, internet savvy
  • Key points they consider: Looks, Trends, Value for money
  • What are they looking for in a career? They want to advance quickly, be in control, travel

The Independent Princess ~ 28 to 35 Years

  • High earners, big spenders - spend 121% of their income, inner circle is paramount
  • Key points they consider: 30% own digital cameras, 8% own 2 credit cards, feminine, like cutting edge technology and design
  • What are they looking for in a career? They want to design and work their own hours, receive a good income, and have a flexible career.

Family First ~ 35 to 49 Years

  • Married, has an average of two children, spends a lot of time stressing, has ‘super woman syndrome’, has a serious lack of time, is still trying to enjoy life
  • Key points they consider: Is budget conscious, has little time for personal indulgences but still enjoys them, 62% of family first are on a diet, 50% of family first eat take-away twice a week
  • What are they looking for in a career? Value for money, comfort and durable, something for herself, flexible hours, work from home, meet new people, and support from head office/management.

Young at Heart ~ 50+ Years

  • Rejects old lady stereotypes, wants a full schedule
  • Key points they consider: 2 times more likely to be involved in a charity, 14% have tried recreational drug, they need a reason to buy
  • Reason for business involvement: easy pocket money, social, learn new skills, easy

Sponsoring & the Importance of Knowing What Women Want

Now that you know these categories, when you are planting sponsorship seeds or discussing the business opportunity 1:1, you can think about the different ways you should approach the Socialite, the Independent Princess, the Family First woman, or the Young at Heart.

For women, people are the most interesting and important element of any situation.

NSW Calendar and Monthly Calendar Printouts

Google Calendar - Click the link to open. I keep this calendar as up to date as I can with PartyLite NSW events and activities. Includes Unit Meetings, Training, Launches, Fast Track to Leadership, and a few other odds and ends.

Printable Monthly Calendars - Click the link to open. I find it easier to show guests my availabilities on the month-at-a-glance to get them to book a date. I found this site (there are others) and like the format (and the price: free). I print the next three months and always have them with me. Once the date is selected, I put address and phone details about their party in my real diary.

Top Sponsoring Cues

How can you tell if someone is destined to be a candle consultant just like you?
10-3-2 includes finding two sponsorship leads at every show. Seem far fetched to you? First, remember that that is a GOAL, not a rule. Second, there are a few things to look out for at each and every show. (Grace presented this at Success Express and has provided this list - thanks, Grace!)
  • Fall in love with the candles and accessories as they enter the room.
  • Listen intently to your presentation.
  • Enjoy participating with the Show Cards.
  • Comment enthusiastically and offer advice.
  • Complain about their jobs or being home.
  • Ask questions about your job/business.
  • Mention others they know who love the candles and accessorising their homes.
  • Love the products, but indicate that finances are tight.
  • Call to replenish supplies within a week of receiving their order.
Tip: Don't ask your guests if they want to be a Consultant. That's a Yes or No question... too easy for them to gloss over. Make them think a little. After finding out what they do, or how they liked the show, or hearing what their financial situation is, you might ask them, "Is there any reason why you wouldn't want to sit down with me sometime in the next week to discuss the Consulting opportunity for yourself?"
To be successful from there, go read the Overcoming Objections chapter in the Consultant Guide. It's awesome!
