Consultant Business Centre

Hi. I just wanted to remind/tell you how important it is for you to check the CBC pretty regularly. I go in almost everyday for one reason or another. Tonight I learned that one of the new products is on STOP SELL because it is not testing up to our premium standards. I also see that the corrected catalogs are in stock. It's important to scroll down the Top Stories part to see if there's anything new. Also, just a reminder to always check the Product Hotline before you go to a show. You'll have informed and, therefore, happier customers!

January Unit Meeting Summary

Hello. What a fantastic Unit Meeting. I really enjoyed seeing our new Consultants get involved with our teams. We had a phone glitch halfway through - I have already apologised to the folks who were there.

Here's what we covered.
  1. Success Express Regos Due Thursday (today) – The Rainbows have nine people attending. Wow!
  2. Candlelight Night – More details here already - get out those invitations! 10 guests earns you a $50 gift certificate. Please provide rough numbers to me by February 2 and a list of names by February 6. We want them to feel special.
  3. New Catalogs - Log in to the CBC (Consultant Business Centre) at my.partylite.com and do a consultant order for catalogs. I highly recommend that you do this today to get the order in and shipped to you ASAP. The $65 option gets you 2 packs of 25 catalogs, one new complete set of fragrance samplers, and a selection of new 2008 literature. Personally, I bought 2 sets ($130). That way I can share the samplers with some of my key hosts.
  4. Conference – July 31-August 2 – Gold Coast – Not just for fun; this is well worth the investment of time and money to be there – details forthcoming – we have a good group coming! Join us! Angela and I are working on the accommodation now, so if you are thinking of coming, please let us know so we include you. Save up over time with Stash for Cash. Applications are on the CBC; I'm going to submit mine today.
  5. Booking Gift Certificates taking the place of Booking Gifts – I’ll put up an individual blog about this…. It’s a new program and it’s awesome! Information you need now: The new Gift Certificates (you’ll receive a book in your Reflections) will normally cost you $10 to redeem for your hosts, but in February, they are FREE, so be generous, book lots of February shows, and give and extra $50 to your hosts! Call me if you have questions after reading your Reflections.
  6. Goals for 2008 – Not necessarily money… things, activities, time. What do you want that you don’t have? Please share your goals with me so I can work with you to get you there.
"The indispensable first step to getting the things you want out of life is this: decide what you want." --Ben Stein
Finally, I loved this statement about PartyLite on the Blyth Inc website.

During a home show, Consultants provide decorating ideas for using candles throughout the year. The relaxed, personal atmosphere of the home enhances the appeal of the products and allows the Consultant to not only sell effectively, but to build a customer service relationship that encourages repeat sales with every new product line. Three different product lines each year offer fresh color and fragrance options and accessories mirroring the newest trends in home décor. PartyLite's in-home party model enables each Consultant to be their own boss, make their own schedule, and earn the money they deserve. No special degree or training needed. No cash investment to start. No inventory to keep - or deliveries to make. No glass ceiling. But plenty of support, motivation and recognition!

We are involved with a big, secure, and successful company. Whether you're in this business to earn a few extra dollars, to socialise in a different environment than normal, to get cheap candles, or to investigate a new career - PartyLite is the place to be. Dream big. Work hard. Live well.

Until next time. WLC.

Leader Summit

Hi. Angela and I just got back from Leader Summit. Almost every Unit Leader from across the country came to Sydney for this 3 day meeting. We learned a lot.

You will receive your Reflections this week. The new catalog will be there. You will notice that there were some pricing typos inside that have been corrected by handwriting and stickers. This version of the catalog will be replaced with an error free version in February. The good news is that (1) we don't have to put the stickers on ourselves and (2) the new version is coming.... There is no bad news. :)

I'm going to order my new catalogs as soon as I get Reflections. I don't mind the stickers for now and I need to have catalogs for my February shows. I recommend you do the same.

We have a lot to share with you at the Unit Meeting this week. The COMPLETELY new booking program is the best! Can't wait! See you or hear you on Wednesday. WLC.

Candlelight Night Is All About Your Customers

Candlelight Night is a customer event. It is an opportunity for you to invite your customers to see all of the new products in the 2008 Everyday catalog. Even if they've booked a party already, this is an opportunity for them to touch, see, and smell all of them in one place.

How to make it a success for YOU?

Commit to be there yourself. Be excited about the new catalog. (Though I haven't seen it yet, I'm sure there will be lots of new things to be excited about.) Be excited about this great opportunity/excuse to contact your customers - even if they don't come, what a great reason to call and say hello. Importantly, come to the Success Express training the weekend before and see it all for yourself before the event. Registrations are due THIS WEEK.

Invite everyone you know. Really. Invite all of your customers. Call your really special ones and give them a personal invitation. We will not be selling the products at Candlelight night, so there is no pressure to buy. If people ask what to bring, let them know that we will have raffles on the night and they can buy a raffle ticket if they want to.

Invite people who live far away from you to attend any of the Candlelight night events. Here is a list of the locations.

Sydney (all leaders will be in attendance)
Parramatta RSL (cnr Macquarie and O’Connell Streets, Parramatta)
Thursday, Feb 7th, 7:30 -9:30pm

Central Coast (Karen & Andrea)
Cardiff Panthers (cnr Pendlebury and Munibung Roads, Cardiff )
Friday, Feb 8th, 7:30 -9:30pm

Orange (Eliana & Amanda)
Country Comfort (146 Bathurst Road, Orange)
Saturday, Feb 9th, 3.00-5.00pm

Wollongong (Angela & Andrea),
Russell Vale Community Hall (Cnr Keerong Ave & Channon Street, Russell Vale)
Sunday, Feb 10th, 2:00 – 4:00pm

Canberra (Julieanne, Andrea & Wendy)
St Nicolas Church Hall (1 Gosse Street, Kingston)
Monday, Feb 11th, 7:30 – 9:30pm

10-3-2

In my Unit, each Consultant who gets 10 people to come to Candlelight night will get a $50 gift certificate from me. Why? Because ten guests might turn into three bookings and could result in two really good sponsorship leads.

You can do it if you make it all about the customers! Be a great host. Don't rely on email to get people there. Recommend that each person come with a friend. Come to training. Be excited. That's about the best advice I can give. Off I go!

No Rest for the Motivated!

Dear Rainbows,

Happy New Year to you all. I hope the holiday season was great for you. As a group, we had another wonderful month in December. Some of you got to take the month off after the record breaking November. Well deserved!

I wanted to write you this letter to get you back into the swing in January and ready for an even bigger month of activity in February. Now is a great time to set your goals for the year and put an action plan in place to achieve them all!

January Phone Call Challenge
Sometimes the hardest part of getting started is just starting. So I thought I’d give you a challenge. Make a list of 50 people to call. Think about the hosts you had in 2007 (especially ones who qualified for the Max It! promotion), the guests who liked more than they bought, and the people on your FRANK list who haven’t been to a party yet. Seriously, write down 50 names. Then call them. Just make 5 calls each day. Keep track of who you’ve called and the results (e.g. happy with order, needed help, party confirmed in 2008, interested in learning more about the PartyLite opportunity, invited to Candlelight Night). Bring your list (whether you’ve called them all or not) and results to our Unit Meeting and there will be prizes. I’m going to do it, too!

Candlelight Night
The Sydney Candlelight Night is on Thursday, February 7 at 7:30 p.m. It will take place at the Crowne Plaza at Norwest (1 Columbia Court, Windsor Rd entrance to Norwest Business Park). Ask me about other NSW venues.

Your participation is not mandatory, but is HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. The event is being organised and paid for by all of us (e.g. we provide a catalogue and a tealight to each of our guests, and I think we’ll each need to contribute $10 toward the room). I’ll be sending you more information in the coming weeks, and we will have a huge planning session at the Unit Meeting.

You can buy postcard invitations from me; I assume they’ll cost the same as our other invitations. Please let me know how many you need. I haven’t seen them yet, but will be getting samples early this week. I will have to order them for you and I want to bring them to our Unit Meeting. I will be sending out over 100 myself. You might only want 50. It’s a really great opportunity to show your clients what a professional company PartyLite is.

So, please write back and let me know:
  1. If you will be at our January Unit Meeting
  2. If you have registered for Success Express
  3. How many invitations you want for Candlelight night
Here’s to a great 2008! Can’t wait to see you.

P.S. Wouldn't that be a cool shirt for all of us to wear at the Conference in July?
